The AI Lab at The New School is a space dedicated to cutting-edge exploration, where artificial intelligence intersects with creative fields and social research. We leverage Generative AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing to integrate AI with design, social research, and performing arts — fostering collaboration and sparking new insights.
We cultivate a dynamic ecosystem, bringing together faculty, students, industry partners, startups, cultural institutions, and policymakers to co-create AI-driven prototypes, applications, exhibitions, and performances. Through academic programs, AI-centered hackathons, public discussions, and scholarly publications, we encourage curiosity, interdisciplinary synergy, and ethical engagement. By fusing AI, user-centered design, immersive experiences, and socially responsible practices, we uncover new perspectives, envision future narratives, and deliver pioneering solutions and experiences.
